How Can I Do a Reverse Phone Lookup on a Cell Number? Here is Something You Don’t Want to Miss

Casey Gentles asked:

You may receive occasional phone calls and you have no clue as to who the person on the other line is. And your curiosity got the best of you because you simply wanted to find out who that person is. Who knows, it might be someone from high school who has been wanting to get in touch with you for the longest time. Or perhaps it’s your long-lost best friend who you haven’t heard of since grade school.

Whatever your reasons are, reverse phone service is here to help you. If you can’t seem to find the information you’re looking for in phone books or white pages, then you might need a reverse phone number look up service. This applies to both landlines and cell phone numbers, although finding out information about landline numbers is way easier than doing it on a cell phone number.

The reason for this is because some cell phones are prepaid which means the owner didn’t have to provide his or her information just to register. Also, most telecommunications companies guard their customers’ information very strictly to avoid people from getting hold of them.

Reverse phone number services operate by purchasing information from different phone companies and mobile providers. Since they are able to acquire the information from multiple sources, their database is quite comprehensive. It contains practically every working number in the country. Landlines, cellular numbers, unlisted numbers – you name it.

You may need to pay for the service since it actually took a great deal of investment to purchase information from top companies. They mostly require PayPal or credit cards for payment transactions. This is to ensure that they are not used in an illegal manner. And besides, it’s their way of recouping the money they spent in acquiring all the information in their database.

So how do you do a reverse phone lookup on a particular cellular number? It’s quite easy, actually. You simply enter the phone number that called you into the form provided. Some of these services allow you to obtain basic information such as whether the number in question is a landline or a cell phone number, the city and state of the registration, and other basic information. But for other personal information such as the name and the address, you may have to shell out some amount.

This begs the question: are these types of services completely legal? Yes, they are, as long as you use the information you get in a harmless, lawful way. Don’t use this service if you are looking for some trouble. If you have been receiving malicious calls, report it to authorities. They would know how best to handle this dilemma and in the quickest way possible.

Phone Reverse Lookup

Sam Drake asked:

With the advent of caller I.D. our phone situation has changed greatly. We can see the phone number and many times the name of the person calling. So why would we need to do a phone reverse lookup?

Many times when about to answer our phone, we don’t know who the phone number belongs to. Do we answer the phone? Do we let it ring? If you’re like me, you don’t pick it up. What if the person calls back several times? What if you start to get calls in the middle of the night?

You can’t take it anymore. It’s 3 AM. You pick up the phone and the person hangs up. Now you’ve really gotten upset. But more than upset, you’re concerned about whom this person is and why they are calling you all day and night and when you finally pick up the phone; they slam it down in your ear. Now is the time to do a phone reverse lookup!

First things first when you do a search like this. Go to Google or Yahoo or one of the other major search engines and type the phone number in there. If you do not get any results, change the way you typed it in; try dashes between the numbers; try periods between the numbers. If that also delivers no results, then put the entire phone number in quotation marks (“555-555-5555″). That will alert the search engines to not change the numbers around during the search but to keep the digits in that exact order.

What if I still do not get any results?

You still want to do a phone reverse lookup but you don’t know what to do.

There are companies that specialize in these searches. But even that is risky. One company is endorsed by Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and all the other major phone companies; InfoRegistry. They are accurate, fairly inexpensive and they work with phone registry records which are updated daily.

Don’t wait any longer. Just do it! You’ll sleep better at night.
